14) Valinnanvapaus / Freedom of Choice WelcomeElectionsCartoonsRecommendationsArticlesEventsDonateSuggestChange Language العربيةفارسیEnglishEspañolFrançaisKiswahiliSuomiSvenskaதமிழ் Sometimes freedom of choice is goodddd! For example, when one can choose ice creams based on own taste. Important services like social services, healthcare, education and schooling are, on the other hand, good to be implemented mainly by the public sector. Because enough resources means satisfied employees, which results in happy city dwellers and a brighter future for everyone! A majority of people in Finland agree. Almost 3 out of 4 want the public sector to continue providing these crucial services. Why then do some politicians want to corporatise or privatise services that are important for people’s well-being? Isn’t this just ideology for ideology’s sake? These politicians want to weaken the public sector according to their own wishes. So that we regular people also start hating public services as much as they do! Is this really the freedom of choice we wish for? Being able to choose from an under-resourced public sector, a private firm that exploits workers and a company that focuses on maximising returns for large investors? If we do not wish to live in the laps of giant corporations, let’s remember to vote for parties and politicians that know what they are talking about! High quality public services are an equality effort. P:S: No city-dweller left behind! Back to cartoons menu
